A Day In The Life : Seane Corn

A Day In The Life : Seane Corn

November 6, 2017

I have seven non negotiables that I integrate into my life:

  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Prayer
  • Diet
  • Sleep
  • Therapy
  • Play

I include five everyday: yoga, meditation, prayer, diet and sleep. Therapy is once a week. And I struggle the most with play, however, I know how essential it is and have recently added it on because I am not the best at it. I look for sustainability in my life because of my travel schedule. I am on the road 2/3 of the year, which means I am away from my foundation, my family and the structure that can keep one grounded. So for me to remain grounded, these non negotiables keep me sustained.

Yoga and Mediation

Every morning I wake up, drink tea and watch or read the news to find out what is happening in the world. This is very important to me, as someone who is actively involved in social justice. I never turn my back on the pain and suffering that exists, but I go towards it. Then, I go into my yoga room and meditate. I let myself be present to the suffering that exists in my prayer. I dedicate every practice to that challenge or issue that I saw or read, whether it is political, environmental or even personal, so that my practice is not about me. Even though I get the psychological and physiological benefits, but it is about the collective.

Diet

Every morning I wake up and drink a special tea of Fortune Delight Antioxidant Cinnamon with nut milk and a little agave. I am a vegan and very committed to my veganism because it is in direct alignment with my yoga practice. I do not want to introduce any energy into my body that has suffered or has been abused or terrorized in any capacity. This is because I take that energy in and it will influence the way I approach my day. Meat is not sustainable. As an environmental and animal rights activist, this is essential to my health.

Sleep

Sleep is something I do not need a lot of, as I am so busy and tend to not make it the biggest priority. Before I go to sleep, I take time and reflect on my day and recognize what I am carrying into the room with me. I am mindful of making sure I shower and wash my feet after teaching, so I am not taking any energy into the bed with me. I do try to rest as much as I can, but six hours is really what my body resonates on.

Therapy

Every week, I work with someone to help support me in my belief system and in my emotional process. I believe it is very important to have a guide to process and hold space with.

Play

For some reason, play is the most difficult for me, as I tend to not pencil it in. For me, it happens spontaneously, so I just don't schedule in that kind of joy time often. That kind of stuff can sometimes feel superfluous or secondary to me, but I am aware how essential it is and I am trying to actively add it more into my life. I am especially trying to see my girl friends more. They are raunchy and completely inappropriate, and I just laugh so hard when I am with them. I am now actively trying to schedule more time with them, even just lunch or a hike, as it is something I cherish. But, being with my family is the most important play to me.

Products

As for products I use, I do not wear any makeup. I think I have youthful skin because I am a vegan and stay away from processed foods. In addition, I only use vegan and cruelty free products. Right now, I am using AnnMarie Organics on my skin and on my hair, I use Abba. I use Doterra Oils everyday. I use oils a lot because I believe in the principles of them helping me stay grounded. I struggle with vertigo and oils help me relieve the dizzy spells or stop them when they are coming on. I put some on my head and feet and that can usually pull the energy out.
