Morning
Food: First, a giant glass of spring water. Most mornings this is followed by a warm potion infused with tonic herbs, some white dragon matcha or chai, and a little raw honey blended up with some homemade sprouted nut or seed milk. ( I like to make my own nut milks because I try to avoid anything containing any form of preservatives, and prefer the creamy freshness of homemade versus store bought raw milks!) As a snack, I love a giant spoonful of coconut yogurt from coconut cult - sprinkled with a little bee pollen and pine pollen - probiotic mineral rich, immune boosting gut-flora humming perfection!
Mindful exercises or rituals: First thing upon waking I take a moment to articulate my gratitude for all the blessings in my life. Love when I have time for morning yoga. My latest excitement is the 9am Kundalini class with Tej at Nine Treasures Yoga. My friend Ise recently brought me to her class and I love it!
Other days may include the ritual of heading up to my roof for some self-guided pranayama, some simple stretches, jumping on my rebounder or just watering my plants....Almost everyday I take a few minutes to consciously enjoy a few rounds of tea, as a sort of meditation. I love these moments.
Products: Our White Dragon Matcha (from Sun Potion) and Yin Power.
Golda atmosphere mist - my friends Keiko and Tsugu offer this amazing woodsy spray made from Japanese Hiba wood which I mist myself (and anyone who happens to be around me) with all day long!
Poppy and Someday Marfa Moon Mist (for face)
Shiva Rose Beauty Balm
And then, always love a good puerh - currently sipping Greg’s Galactivation Serum from Living Tea - which is amazing!
Routines: WORK. I feel grateful to work for myself and have the freedom of creating my work schedule. This being said, I tend to work constantly....I love it. Whether it is shooting photos, taking meetings, designing, strategizing, alchemizing….I like to stay busy, grounded and focused.
Unless I am out shooting, taking meetings or traveling, I tend to work best (from my home office) between 9 and 4pm….So you will often find me here during the day.
Afternoon
Food: Green juice, a chlorophyll rich salad, more tonics... love to snack on raw chocolate and fermented nut and seed cheeses, seasonal fruits, veggies!
Body work or workouts: Since my brain is most turned on in first part of the day, I tend to hit the gym or go for a hike around 4pm… I have my personal idiosyncrasy of a fitness routine that I follow...it used to be kind of a joke (I called it my 5 min workout) though I have been getting back into fitness and creating more time for it recently. Love how a range of exercise really enhances my overall energy levels, mood and mental clarity!
I love to warm up before yoga or a workout in my infrared sauna.
Night
Food: If I am cooking at home, I try to have an early dinner...this generally consists of tons of vegetables (roasted or steamed or sautéed), some protein (some wild fish or if I am in a plant based zone - which happens often - more vegetables, sprouted grains, lentils, soups, kichari etc. I also love to cook for / with other people. Truth be told, I also love to go out and enjoy beautiful food with friends…organic, local, seasonal whole foods prepared with love, artistry and intelligence...yum!
Mindful exercises or rituals: Gratitude. Pleasure. Joy.
Body work or workouts: Hmm… sleep prep?? Dancing! I have this funny muscle massage called “The Thumper” which is great for softening muscles + easing tension
Products: Poppy and Someday oil pulling, Sun Potion Shea Butter, Omica Sea Buckthorn Oil, Triphala, Tulsi Rose Tea, Evan Healy Immortelle Face Hydrosol
Routines: Love to run my aromatherapy diffuser (with lavender, rose, eucalyptus, peppermint and hiba oils) before falling into dreams...clears the respiratory system and energy from the day!
